General Dentistry Muscat — Checkups, Cleaning & Filling
People begin to think about their teeth when they start to experience pain. The problem at this stage has been growing for several months. At Al Rabeeh Dental Center, our team focuses on early detection because it allows us to treat problems before they become serious medical issues. Our Al Khoud and Maabilah clinics treat patients who range from toddlers experiencing their initial dental check to adults who have not seen a dentist for many years. Our team will create a personalised plan based on your current status.
What Sets Our Approach Apart
We have been working in Muscat since 2011. The reason for our enduring existence stems from one specific factor: returning patients. The patients return because we give them essential information through direct communication instead of using simple statements, and we recommend treatments only when they need to receive them.

Treatments We Carry Out Every Day
Our general dentistry practice handles essential dental check-ups, which prevent serious oral health issues from developing.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings
A filling material prevents tooth decay from continuing when decay has reached the
internal part of a tooth. We use composite resin — a material that bonds directly to the
tooth and matches its colour. With modern dental fillings, patients experience no
visible dental work when they talk or smile.
Same-day procedure in most cases.

Teeth Cleaning
People who brush their teeth correctly still fail to reach certain regions, which include
the spaces between their molars and along their gum lines. Plaque transforms into
tartar within one day of its formation, and only dental professionals can extract it with
their specialised tools. Our team performs cleaning and scaling and polishing work
during one session, which most patients complete within 45 minutes.
Recommended every six months.

Care Instructions For Your Home
How you brush your teeth, the types of devices used to clean between teeth, what
types of foods you eat, and how often you grind your teeth all will dictate how quickly
problems develop in your mouth before your next visit. We cover these briefly at
every appointment — not as a routine speech but based on what we actually see in
your mouth that day.
Your records establish what will happen to your case.

Routine Examination
During a standard exam, your dentist checks for decay, assesses gum depth, examines
your bite, and looks at soft tissue for any changes. The procedure requires
approximately 20 minutes to complete. Patients who attend regularly spend far less on
treatment over time — problems are found at the stage where a clean or small filling
resolves them.
Most adults require twice-yearly dental check-ups
What to Expect at Your Visit
If you’re new to Al Rabeeh or you haven’t been to a dentist for some time, here’s what you can expect when you come in:
1
Initial Consultation
Before your dental examination begins, the dentist will find out if you have any specific concerns and will also ask for your dental history and general health. This will help the dentist provide you with specific care that is tailored to meet your individual needs.
2
A Comprehensive Exam
We will carefully evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums during the examination, using modern diagnostic aids as required. If X-rays are needed, we will explain to you how they relate to your examination before taking them.
3
Clear Findings and Available Treatment Options
We will explain our findings to you using simple language which shows the current issues and the items we will track and the items which are in excellent condition. No jargon, no pressure.
4
Treatment and Support
Any required treatment will be performed in a gentle manner at a pace that is comfortable for you. We will also contact you to schedule your next appointment prior to you leaving our office, and we will also provide you with home care instructions that will assist in maintaining your dental health.
Clear Guidance for Better Oral Care
Find clear answers to common general dentistry questions. Learn about routine dental care, preventive treatments, and oral health maintenance, helping you feel confident, informed, and comfortable about every step of your dental care journey.
How many times do I need to go for a dental appointment?
patients with a history of periodontal disease, excessive calculus (tartar) build-up, or
other tooth-related problems may be placed on a more frequent recall visit schedule of
every four months. At the end of your first visit, we'll tell you what will work best for
you specifically because there isn't a single answer that will fit all people.
Is tooth cleaning painful?
creates pressure and vibration, which people experience without feeling any actual
pain. Most patients experience mild discomfort during the procedure when their gums
show signs of inflammation or they haven't received cleaning for over twelve months.
We check our progress by asking for updates to proceed at our own pace.
Why go to the dentist if I have no issues with my teeth?
A cavity found at the enamel stage will need only a small filling in one appointment;
however, leaving a cavity untreated for one year can result in additional treatment
costs (i.e., a root canal or tooth extraction). By completing your regularly scheduled
appointments, you will likely save both time and money as opposed to treating
advanced stages of decay or gum disease.
Does oral health affect other areas of your health?
complications in diabetes management, and adverse outcomes in pregnancy. The
connection is well-documented — the mouth is part of the body, and persistent
infection in the gums doesn't stay isolated.
