Oral Surgery in Muscat — Expert Extractions, Wisdom Teeth Removal & Surgical Dental Care

A lot of people put off dealing with a problem tooth because they are not sure what ‘oral surgery’ actually involves, or they assume it will be painful and complicated. In most cases, it is neither.

At Al Rabeeh Dental Center, our surgical dentists handle everything from simple extractions to complex cases — impacted wisdom teeth, teeth that have broken below the gumline, and anything in between. Whatever your situation, we start with a thorough assessment before we recommend anything, and we talk you through the plan in plain language before we book a single appointment.

We have two branches in Muscat — Al Khoud and Maabilah — open seven days a week. If you have been told you need a tooth out, or you have been in discomfort and are not sure why, we are a straightforward starting point.

Our Oral Surgery Services in Muscat

We cover the full range of surgical dental procedures—from the straightforward to the complex. Here is what we treat and what each procedure actually involves.

Surgical Extractions

Surgical Extractions — When a Simple Pull Is Not Enough

Some teeth cannot be removed with standard forceps. A tooth broken below the gumline, one with unusually curved roots, or a tooth fused to the jawbone requires a surgical approach — careful, precise, and still done under local anaesthetic. This sounds more serious than it usually is. Our surgical dentists handle these cases routinely, using advanced instrumentation to minimise tissue disruption and keep recovery as straightforward as possible. We will tell you honestly before your appointment exactly what to expect.

Wisdom Teeth removal

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth cause problems for a lot of people — not always dramatically, but persistently. They may be growing at an angle and pressing on the tooth next to them, partially erupted and trapping food, or sitting so far back that they are impossible to keep clean. We see impacted wisdom teeth regularly at both our Muscat branches. Before any procedure, we take detailed imaging to understand exactly what we are working with. The removal is done under local anaesthetic, and most patients are surprised by how manageable the recovery is. We send you home with written aftercare instructions and stay reachable if anything concerns you in the days that follow.

Pre-prosthetic Surgery

Pre-prosthetic Surgery & Preparatory Procedures

Before dental implants or dentures can be placed, some patients need bone or soft tissue work to create a stable, healthy foundation. We coordinate these preparatory steps with your broader treatment plan so that each stage leads cleanly into the next. Nothing is done in isolation.

Routine Extractions at Al Rabeeh Dental Clinic muscat, Oman

Routine Extractions

For teeth that are severely decayed, loose, or need to come out before orthodontic work, we carry out straightforward extractions in a calm, unhurried environment. You will not be moved to the next step until you are comfortable. The procedure itself is quick, and most patients are back to normal within a day or two.

What Makes the Difference at Al Rabeeh

Most patients who come to us for oral surgery have either been referred by another dentist or they have been managing a problem tooth longer than they should have. Either way, what they tell us matters most is not the procedure itself — it is knowing what is happening at every stage.

That is what we try to deliver. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Imaging before every procedure

Digital X-rays and panoramic imaging give us a precise picture of your anatomy before we do anything — root positions, bone levels, nerve proximity. No guesswork, no surprises.

Surgical dentists, not generalists

Our oral surgery cases are handled by clinicians with dedicated training in surgical procedures – not general dentists fitting extractions between check-ups.

Two branches, seven days a week

Al Khoud and Maabilah are both open daily 9 AM – 10 PM (Fridays from 2 PM). If you are looking for oral surgery near you in Muscat, we are accessible from most areas without a long commute.

MOH Licensed & Fully Compliant

Al Rabeeh Dental Center is fully licensed under the Ministry of Health, Oman, operating to international clinical standards across every procedure and protocol.

FAQ

Clear Answers for Oral Surgery

Find helpful answers to common questions about oral surgery procedures, pain management, recovery time, and aftercare. This section helps you understand what to expect and feel confident throughout your treatment journey.

What does a surgical dentist do?
A surgical dentist handles cases that go beyond a routine extraction — impacted teeth, teeth broken below the gumline, complex root anatomy, and preparatory surgery before implants. At Al Rabeeh, our surgical dentists work across the full range, from straightforward removals to complex cases other clinics refer out.

When would I need a surgical procedure instead of a routine one?
When the tooth cannot come out with standard forceps — usually because it is broken at or below the gum, fused to the bone, impacted, or has unusual root anatomy. Your dentist will review your X-rays and tell you which approach is needed. It is still done under local anaesthetic and more manageable than it sounds.

How do I know if my wisdom teeth need to come out?
Not all wisdom teeth need to come out — but the ones that do tend to make it clear. Persistent jaw pain, swelling or recurring infection at the back of the mouth, crowding, or a tooth you simply cannot keep clean are the main signs. If any of these sound familiar, it will not settle on its own — it is worth getting a proper look at.

Will the procedure be painful?
No, local anaesthetic takes care of that. Afterwards, some soreness and swelling for two to five days is normal and expected. We send you home with written aftercare and stay reachable throughout.

How long does recovery take after wisdom tooth removal?
Most patients feel significantly better within three to five days. Full healing takes one to two weeks. Soft foods, salt rinses, and avoiding smoking all make a real difference. We check in at your follow-up and advise on activity based on how you are doing.

Is oral surgery safe if I have other health conditions?
Yes — but we need to know about them first. Conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and blood thinners affect how we plan and manage the procedure. We review your full medical history before anything is booked. If your situation needs a different approach or a referral, we will tell you plainly.

Which areas of Muscat do you serve for oral surgery?
Two branches — Al Khoud (Al Barakat Street) and Maabilah (Road 8217) — both open seven days a week, 9 AM to 10 PM (Fridays from 2 PM). We serve patients from Seeb, Bowsher, Al Ghubra, Mabella, and across Greater Muscat.
